A Look Back at a Very Successful Syracuse Motorsports Expo

SYRACUSE, NY – The 32nd annual Syracuse Motorsports Expo waived the checkered flag on Sunday afternoon on March 11th and when first year promoter Jeremie Corcoran reflected back it was an overwhelming success. Sponsors FX Caprara, Ferris Lawnmowers and VP Racing Fuels presented a weekend of fun for all ages.

Fans came out in droves with lines seen both days outside past the front entrance despite snowy conditions in upstate NY. Inside the show was completely sold out with booths and race cars filling all corners of the Center of Progress building located on the New York State Fairgrounds.

“I am just speechless, I really can’t say much more. The response was better than I could ever imagine. Coming off the trade show and auction in November I was really geared up from my first Expo and now looking back…wow!” said Corcoran, “We had tracks like Airborne Park, Devil’s Bowl, Fonda and so many more that have never been to the show before and that shows you the impact it had. I think everyone had a good time and I just can’t thank all the tracks, sanctions, race teams, my staff, sponsors and especially the fans enough. I just can’t wait for 2019!”

Vince Musolino’s beautiful dragster that was in the ESTA Safety Park Dragstrip display was voted best of show and he received a Champion Generator from Super Gen Products. Rocky Warner has been a top winner of the sportsman division for several seasons and he won the Snap On Tools pitstop competition taking home a valuable impact wrench from Snap On. Weedsport Speedway Promoter Jimmy Phelps bested fellow track and series promoters in the celebrity pit stop challenge. Then a challenge was accepted by Corcoran to see if he could beat Phelps’ time in which he did with a smile.

Some of the other show highlights saw Weedsport Speedway showcasing their Off Track Live TV show with live interviews being held throughout the weekend and also the crew bringing their TV cameras through the aisles. The Northeast Mud Boss Series provided the fans with some of the best RC racing seen in the Northeast with tour events on both days. Bob Hilbert Sports Wear provided free shirts both days to kids ten and under. The Dirt Motorsports Hal of Fame held a special autograph session with more than two dozen drivers from past and present saw a long line of autograph seekers and so much more.

Dates from the Northeast Racing Products Auction and Trade Show and the 33rd annual Syracuse Motorsports Expo will be announced soon with Corcoran already busy in trying to build on his first year of promoting the two shows.
