BUSTI, NY – Stateline Speedway and Race of Champions management are announcing the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Series and Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series events scheduled for Monday, July 17, are being rescheduled for Thursday, September 7, as part of Stateline Speedway’s “Shootout” weekend, that will close out the 61st season of racing at the historic Busti, NY facility.
“There were several factors considered in this decision” explained Joe Skotnicki, Race of Champions steward. “After several discussions with Jim and Jean Scott, owners of Stateline Speedway, we have determined this is the best direction for the event to give everyone involved the best experience possible.”
The Scott family is in their second full season promoting Stateline Speedway and looked to enhance their already successful Shootout weekend in September.
“We understand the importance of this race to the Race of Champions and the people participating in it,” offered Jean Scott, owner of Stateline Speedway. “This will give us a great card that enhances our September weekend and we look forward to having everyone at Stateline.”

The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The 67th annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2017 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania and is the second longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500.
