Humberstone Pete Cosco Memorial Weekend to Pay $4,000 for Mods, $2,000 for Sportsman

PORT COLBORNE, ONT – Two nights of racing at Humberstone Speedway stand to be lucrative for drivers. On Saturday, August 26th the Modifieds will be competing for $4,000-to-win while the 602 Sportsman Modifeds will compete for $2,000-to-win. The Race of Champions Dirt Modified Series fueled by Sunoco and the Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series fueled by Sunoco will take center stage on Saturday night in honor along with the Mini Stocks who will compete for $200-to-win.

“Pete Cosco loved racing and he loved Humberstone Speedway,” stated Linda Cosco, who now owns and operates Humberstone in Port Colborne. “This is a great way to honor and carry on Pete’s legacy. We are proud to have an entire weekend of racing for fans to enjoy and celebrate Pete’s life. We are looking forward to this and have been all season.”

Saturday night’s action will see 150 laps of total action. A 75-lap Race of Champions Dirt Modified event, a 50-lap Race of Champions 602 Sportsman race and a 25-lap Mini Stock feature giving fans a full-night of entertainment before things get going again on Sunday.

Wood and Company and Cosco Haulage have added additional money to bring the winner’s share to $2,000-to-win in the Sportsman race.
On Sunday, August 27 the Modifieds (Big Block and Small Block) will join the Humberstone Speedway weekly regulars to continue the celebration of Cosco and close out the big weekend of racing presented by Pete Cosco Haulage, Ltd.

Fans are encouraged to attend both days, camp and celebrate the life of one of the Niagara Region’s most enthusiastic track and car owners. Camping is free throughout the weekend.




Cosco’s family and grandsons, Dylan Davidson and Jordan Cosco will be in competition during both nights.

The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
