Northeast Ultimate Super Late Model Series to Sanction Selinsgrove “Showdown on Sand Hill” June 9

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Northeast Ultimate Super Late Model Series will sanction the “Showdown on Sand Hill” at Selinsgrove Speedway Saturday, June 9. Joining the super late models will be the Mason Dixon Shootout Series for limited late models plus pro stocks and roadrunners for the stock car racing showcase.

The super late models will compete in a 30-lap A-Main paying $3,000 to win and $400 to start out of the $15,000-plus purse. Time trials, heat races, and a B-Main will be the tentative qualifying format. The limited late models will race in a 20-lap feature paying $1,000 to win.

The pro stocks and roadrunners will be featured in 15- and 12-lap main events, respectively.

A past late model event at the track, the “Showdown on Sand Hill” is being brought back for 2018 in place of the disbanded Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek Series race. Previous “Showdown on Sand Hill” winners include Tim McCreadie (2014) and Gregg Satterlee (2013). The race’s name came about from the speedway’s physical address of 47 Sand Hill Road.

The June 9 race date will mark the first-ever sanctioned events at Selinsgrove by both the Northeast Ultimate Super Late Model Series and the Mason Dixon Shootout Series.
