Short Track Super Series to Crown North Region Champion Sept. 26 at Penn Can Speedway

SUSQUEHANNA, PA – There will be a Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco North Region Modified champion crowned, after all.

On Saturday, September 26 at Penn Can Speedway, the ’20 Halmar International North Region point title will be decided in the 55-lap, $5,555-to-win ‘King of the Can’ at the Susquehanna County track.

The original ’20 North Region schedule called for 10 events. However, COVID-19 restrictions put in place by New York State made completing North Region events virtually impossible. The combined North-South program at Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, Pa., on June 16 and the July 5 ‘Firecracker 50’ at Fonda (N.Y.) Speedway were run.

Via an agreement with the STSS and the Folk family – promoters of Penn Can Speedway – the Sept. 26 ‘King of the Can’ event will now be sanctioned by the series and serve as a championship event.
