BATAVIA, NY – Two successful practice sessions have set the stage for things to starting counting this Saturday.

This Saturday, May 6, Kohorst Custom Homes & Remodeling will present a Super 6 program starting at 6:00 P.M. This will feature the Crate Late Models, Sportsman, 360 Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Bandits battling it out on the 1/3-mile oval.

A unique feature will be that all five adult division champions from 2016 are back to defend their crown this season. Beamer Guzzardi was inaugural champion of the crate late models but will have a lot of work to defend his title in 2017. He won’t be hard to spot either in his bright yellow No. 94.

Kyle Inman dominated the sportsman points all of last season and shows no signs of slowing up this summer, but with what figures to be the highest weekly car counts, the sportsman division will be hotly-contested.

360 Late Model champion Dave DuBois will continue to pull double duty as he will also pilot a crate late model. Greg Mrzywka will join him in this extended effort in 2017 as the three-time sportsman winner last year has also purchased a crate late model.

Veteran’s Butch Zimmerman and Brad Shepard will look to hold on to their street stock and mini stock titles, respectively. Past Champion Byron Dewitt was hot at the end of last seasons and will be a threat in the street stocks while Shepard will have another 2016 champion in the field with Cole Hicks moving up to the adult division. Hicks’ departure from the bandits means a new driver will collect that championship in 2017.

Saturday will kick off the first of 20 race dates featuring a visit by the ULMS Super Late Models on Thursday, July 6 and the first ever Topless Crate Nationals on September 16th and 17th.

Genesee Speedway is located just each of Batavia on Route 5 at the Genesee County Fairgrounds featuring Saturday Night racing on the 1/3-mile dirt oval including Crate Late Models, Sportsman Modifieds, 360 Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Bandits. For more information, visit
