WHITE LAKE, NY – It’s time for the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco to hit the pavement.
On Sunday, September 30, the quarter-mile paved Bethel Motor Speedway will host the STSS Sportsman in the Behrent’s Performance Warehouse-sponsored ‘Fall of 69’ event: 69 laps offering a very healthy $2,500 to the winner plus special awards and bonuses.
This second annual event at Bethel will serve as the fourth of five STSS Sportsman events on the 2018 agenda.
A draw format will set the lineups for 15-lap ‘Semi’ qualifiers leading up to the ‘Fall of 69’ STSS Sportsman main event. Drivers unable to qualify through the ‘Semi’ events will have another shot via B-Mains for a field of 22 cars. Two series provisionals and one track provisional will bring the total starters to 25 on the tight bullring.
The main event will run 69 green-flag laps.
All drivers signing in for the event will receive 60 points toward the STSS Open Sportsman championship battle.
A number of bonuses will be available for STSS Sportsman racers: a $100 Sunoco Race Fuels Gift Certificate for the Halfway Leader; a $200 Extreme Energy Solutions/Extreme Kleaner Top Crate 602 bonus; $200 from Armistead Mechanical to the Hard Charger; $100 for the first Orange County (N.Y.) Fair Speedway representative from Mike Sparta Trucking and $100 to the top Accord (N.Y.) Speedway driver courtesy of Accord promoters Gary and Donna Palmer.
Lap money will also be paid to drivers.
Complete STSS Sportsman rules for this event have been posted under ‘Event Info’ on www.shorttracksuperseries.com.
Also on the card: the ‘Woodstocker’ Tri Counties Automotive Street Stock 40-lap event offering $500 to the winner, Legends Cars in a 25-lap main sponsored by Alliance Shippers Inc. offering $500 to win (based on 18 cars) and a 15-lap Bandolero feature.
