PORT COLBORNE, ONT – The New Humberstone Speedway is gearing up for their 60th Anniversary season of racing in just a couple of months. Until then, two regional shopping destinations will be the setting of where fans will have their first opportunity to meet the cars and the stars before they hit the track.
Two mall shows will take place to help promote the upcoming season. The first show will take place during March Break (March 9-16) at the Seaway Mall in Welland during mall hours, featuring daily activities for show-goers. The second show will be March 30-April 6 at the Pen Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario during mall hours and will also see daily activities for show and mall attendees. Speedway management would like to announce that Mike Piccirilli of RacingFanChaser88 will be the new videographer for the New Humberstone Speedway this coming season. “I have been watching Mike shoot at a few other tracks and his work is awesome”, comments New Humberstone Speedway Track President Dave Bitner. “He is going to give us great racing coverage and some unique angles from all over the property”, Bitner added. Piccirilli has been recording races on his YouTube and Facebook pages for years. This season, he will also be doing the video work at NY’s Genesee Speedway. The 2019 season will start on April 28th with the Dawn of Destruction. Racing will officially start on Victoria Day Weekend as the UMP Modifieds featuring NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader will be racing.
