PORT ROYAL, PA – As if all the great racing won’t be enough to please the crowds at the upcoming two-day Bob Weikert Memorial weekend at Port Royal Speedway on May 27 and 28, there will be plenty of other reasons to take in the special event.
A minimum of 1,000 FREE giveaways will be handed out to general admission fans at the main gate during the two-day show including hats and shirts from Pepsi, hats from Weikert’s Livestock, can koozies from Weikert’s Livestock and other Pepsi prizes including admission tickets to amusement parks and soda giveaways.
Weikert’s will also give away select prizes during the events including a pair of 40” TVs and 20 family packs of prizes for kids.
Live one-hour broadcasts of MRNs Winged Nation will take place behind the grandstand both nights, beginning at 5 pm with special interviews being conducted during the broadcast.
In addition, both racing programs will be broadcast live on SpeedShiftTV.com and will be available for purchase.
Fans can purchase a one-night event cost of $24.95 or they can purchase a two-day pass to see both shows at Port Royal Speedway for $39.95.
And on Sunday afternoon, early arrivals and tailgaters will be treated to live tunes from the rock band Nowhere Slow based out of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Nowhere Slow will play live on the MRN broadcast stage, located behind the grandstand, from 2 – 4:30 pm.
A highly popular club act in the mid-Atlantic region, the band was founded in 2002 and plays a great mix of the songs of today as well as classic hits.
Racing both nights gets underway at 7 pm with gates opening at 4 pm.
Adult general admission both nights is $25 with students ages 12 – 18 admitted for $10.
Twin 30-lap mains for the super late models and 410 sprints will be spun off on Saturday as the Fallen Heroes Championships are contested.
Fireworks are also part of the Saturday show.
Sunday’s Bob Weikert Memorial finale will feature a 35-lap, $10,000 to win main event for the sprint cars while the URC Sprints also compete in a 25-lap main.
