SELINSGROVE, PA – Selinsgrove Speedway swings back into action at 7 p.m. this Saturday, May 27, with a special holiday weekend racing program featuring the United Racing Club 360 sprint cars, super late models, roadrunners, and the rescheduled A&A Auto Stores Pro Stock 20.
Saturday night will also include a professional fireworks presentation. PEPSI will be the title sponsor of this Saturday’s program in which one lucky fan will win a 12-pack of PEPSI a week for one full year!
Track gates open at 5 p.m. Adult general admission on May 27 will be only $15! Students ages 12 through 17 will be admitted for only $8 and children ages 11 and under will be admitted FREE!
In Mach 1 Chassis 360 sprint car action this season, four races have produced three different winners. Jason Shultz of Carlisle and Mark Smith of Sunbury have taken single victories while Davie Franek of Wantage, N.J., is the division’s only repeat winner to date. Franek holds a 190-point lead over Shultz in the chase for the 2017 championship.
The Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center super late models have had four different winners in four events. Donnie Schick of Middleburg, Hayes Mattern of Beavertown, Jeff Rine of Danville, and most recently Bryan Bernheisel of Lebanon have scored single wins. Tony Adams of Sunbury leads the point standings by 130 over Steve Campbell of Danville.
The A&A Auto Stores pro stocks are led by two two-time winners this year: Brad Mitch of McClure and Tommy Slanker of York. Slanker has a strong 240-point lead in the standings over Brandon Moser of Middleburg entering this weekend’s championship race.
The 16th Annual A&A Auto Stores Pro Stock 20, which was rained out on May 6, will pay $1,000 to win and $100 to start.
Past winners of the Pro Stock 20 include Gerald Kratzer of Selinsgrove (2002), Kyle Bachman of Selinsgrove (2003, 2013), Gary Beward of Thompsontown (2004, 2006, 2007), Troy Miller of Tower City (2005), Jason Smith of Williamsport (2008, 2010), AJ Hoffman of Richfield (2009, 2011, 2012), Brad Mitch of McClure (2014), and two-time defending winner AJ Stroup of Evandale.
The championship trophy will be sponsored by The Middleburg IGA.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will be in action at 7 p.m. this Friday, May 26, with a full program of go kart racing. Track gates open at 5:30 p.m.
