PORT ROYAL, PA – Port Royal Speedway has announced the 2018 Living Legend Honoree to be none other than Greg Hodnett of Spring Grove.
Hodnett and his career will be feted in conjunction with the Living Legends Dream Race coming up at the track on Saturday, July 28.
The race itself will again offer a total purse payout of over $55,000 to go along with thousands upon thousands of dollars in contingency cash and prizes set to be distributed to the 410 sprint car drivers.
Just like previous years, the Living Legends Dream A Main will again be a 35-lap feature paying $10,000 to win out of a total purse alone that is worth over $30,000.
Twin 16-lap semi mains offering full purses will again each pay $2,000 to win out of a total purse worth nearly $10,000 each.
Hard charger awards will be up for grabs in the semis and in the A main along with lap moneys, fast time awards and more.
Contingency prizes already confirmed include Hoosier Tires, engine dynos, steering pump rebuilds and gift certificates to Kreitz Oval Track Parts, DMI and Zemco Headers.
Hodnett is the current Port Royal Speedway point leader as he and his Michael Heffner No. 27 team compete for a first-ever track title for both driver and owner.
The personable Tennessee transplant has won all the big events at the track over the years including the: Tuscarora 50, Night Before The 50, season opener, Bob Weikert Memorial, Labor Day Classic, speedweek and the Dream Race itself.
Hodnett currently has 52 wins to his name at Port Royal Speedway with that number sure to grow.
He currently ranks seventh on the Port Royal all-time win list.
More details about the big July 28 Living Legends Dream Race honoring Greg Hodnett will be released in the coming weeks.
