Summer set to Sizzle at Tri City

FRANKLIN, PA – With three successful events in the books at Tri City Raceway Park in 2018, it’s time to look ahead to the next action-packed event!

The “Summer Sizzler” will happen this Sunday, July 15th with a packed racing card with no less than three open wheel divisions! Once again, the Donovan & Bauer Auto Group 410 Sprint Cars will be competing in the second leg of the Summer Sprint Series. Taking the win in the June Summer Sprint Series race was third-generation driver Sye Lynch. He is now in position to grab some of the extra cash offered by Born 2 Run Lubricants, a division of Hovis Auto Supply. Other names expected to join Lynch in competition are Brandon Matus, Jack Sodeman, Jr. and fresh off his second place All Stars performance, George Hobaugh, Jr.

Joining the 410’s will be the Sheetz Convenience Stores RUSH Wingless Sprints. June winner Arnie Kent will be looking to double up on his performance of Father’s Day.

The Bonnell’s Rod Shop RUSH Sportsman Modified Touring Series will be on hand as well on Sunday. Perhaps one of the fastest growing divisions running under the RUSH banner, the Sportsman Mods have proven to be one of the best races of the evening on any given race night. Kole Holden, Chas Wolbert and recent winner Chelsie Kreigisch can all be in victory lane when the checkers wave.

Rounding out the Summer Sizzler is the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series as they host “Ray’s Race for RK Virgile.” The race to honor Virgile was the idea of many of the drivers of the Open Stock class. “All these Pro Stock guys came to me and they wanted to put on a Penn Ohio race and work with Shaun [Hooks],” explains Wagner. “So now the Penn Ohio race is a tribute to him.” “Ray’s Race” is proudly sponsored by R&R Enterprises and will pay an astounding $2011 to win!

Auto Racer’s for Kids Night – Tri City will host the event and have Basket Raffles and 50/50 with proceeds benefiting the NWPA Autism Society’s Lego Social Program of Crawford County. Any drivers wishing to donate a basket, door panel, etc. can do so by bringing it to the Penn Ohio trailer at Tri City before 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Pit gates open at 3 PM with grandstand gates opening at 4 PM. Racing action gets underway at 6 PM.

Price structure throughout the season will be $15 for General Admission, Students 13-17 just $5. Kids 12 and under are always free! Pit Admission is $35, and a Family Pass (2 adults and up to 4 students) just $40.
