Tri-Track Modified Series Begins Sunday at BAPS

Select Collision Kevin Gobrecht Classic - BAPS Motor Speedway - 9 Joe Toth, 14RR Joe Funk, 15 Billy Pauch Jr.

YORK HAVEN, PA – A new era begins this Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway.

Over the winter it was announced that BAPS Motor Speedway, Big Diamond Speedway, and Grandview Speedway had worked out a six-race partnership to bring back the tri-track series for the region’s 358 Modified contingent.  On Sunday, the series kicks off.

The last few years BAPS has hosted several Modified events.  The most recent event occurred last November when Mike Gular bested over 30 drivers for his first win at the track.

Billy Pauch Jr., has indicated he will be in attendance Sunday afternoon in his family owned No. 15.  Pauch Jr., is a multi-time winner at BAPS. His last win at the speedway came at the Kevin Gobrecht Classic for the 358 Modifieds.

Several heavy hitters in the 358 Modified division are slated to attend.

Former champion and opening day winner at Big Diamond Speedway, Jeff Strunk, is slated to be in attendance on Sunday with the Zubi’s Racing No. 88z.  Pennsy small-block ace Duane Howard is making the trek as well in the Butch Getz owned No. 15.  Hot shoes Ryan Watt, Alex Yankowski, Brett Kressley, and Jared Umbenhauer are looking to start the series off with a win.

Modifieds will be racing for $3,500 to win, $400 for 10th and $315 to start the main event.

The Modifieds will be joined by the 410 Sprint Cars as they compete for a $5,300 payday.

The event will be broadcast live on www.dirttrackdigest.tv and www.sprintcarunlimited.tv.
